What's On?

There is always something going on and we are happy to let you know about events that are taking place during your stay. Here is just a taste of a few of the regular events around and about:

April - Circuit des Poiriers - take a cycle ride down nearby country lanes to see the glorious blossom on the pear and apple trees - it really is breathtakingly lovely. Stop en-route at some of the farms who produce cider and perry and sample a few - a very civilised bike ride!

May - Jazz sous les Pommiers - this annual event takes place at the end of May/beginning of June. Jazz muscians from across the globe play at the festival.

June, St Siméon has an annual fête to celebrate the festival of Saint Jean. The whole village comes together to have lunch together and there is a Vide Grenier (car boot sale) and children's entertainment.  Everyone is welcome!

July 14th - celebrate France's day of independence - Bastille Day by going to see one of the spectacular firework displays or simply enjoying lunch or dinner at a nearby restaurant.

August, our next nearest village - St Fraimbault hosts an annual festival to celebrate its farming heritage - come and see how farming was done in the olden days. There is also a huge selection of market stalls selling a whole range of items together with a car rally and lots of other spectacles - a brilliant day out.

Domfront also holds a medieval festival every other year - see jousting and various spectacles of that era.
